Product Description
The Shimano SH-GR501 Women’s are performance flat pedal shoes with low-key, understated styling that won’t look out of place on or off the bike. The synthetic upper is durable and perforated for breathability. The toes and ankles are reinforced to protect you from ouchies caused by your cranks or pesky trees and rocks getting in the way. Shimano’s proprietary rubber outsole provides excellent grip on your pedal pins and provides plenty of traction on the trail when you need to get off and push.
The GR501’s make use of Shimano’s Volume Tour last which provides extra room in the toe box and across the ball of the foot. This extra volume makes them equivalent to a 2E width, so they’re an excellent choice for anyone with wider feet.
Who’s It For: The GR-501’s are an excellent choice for Trail, Enduro and Downhill riders looking for understated shoes for flat pedal action. The 2E equivalent width makes them well suited to riders with wide feet.
Pedal Interface: These are flat pedal shoes.
Closure: Standard lace-up design with an elastic loop on the tongue to secure your laces so your chainring doesn’t eat them.
Upper Materials: Durable perforated synthetic upper for protection and breathability
Sole Materials: Sticky rubber outsole compound provides superb grip on pedals and dirt. The GR-501’s rate a 2 out of 11 of Shimano’s stiffness chart so they are very much at the comfort end of the spectrum.
Weight: 327g (Size:40)
Pros: Great value for money flat pedal shoe. Up for almost any trail. A good option for riders with wider feet
Cons: The GR-501’s rate a 2 out of 11 stiffness rating means that they aren’t the most efficient pedallers out there.
